Week 4 Theme. Truth...or Consequences. Playing with truth, facts, and the area just beyond them

1. As I drive down the dusty road towards the stop sign, the country song I was listening to ends. A new song starts and I’m not in the mood for it so I hit the black next button on my silver CD player. I come to the stop sign and put on my orange left blinker. Once I have checked that the road is clear of oncoming vehicles, I pull out and head to the left. I’m jammin’ out to my country music heading down the road. I pull onto the road that leads up to my friend’s house. As I pull into her driveway, I notice that a fresh layer of white paint has been added to the whole house. Her little brother comes running out of the house and leaps into my arms- giving me a gigantic kiss. I take him inside with me and greet the rest of my friend’s family members. I put my black Adidas bag on the floor, and tell my friend about the prom meeting that is taking place tomorrow at school. Then we get into our own details about our prom night. The rest of the day I play with her little brothers and her and I talk about school drama and upcoming sports events.
2. As I drive down the filthy road towards the red stop sign, the country song I was listening to ends. A new song starts and I’m not feeling the right vibes for it so I hit the blue next button on my gray CD player. I come to the stop sign and put on my yellow right blinker. Once I have checked that the road is clear of oncoming motorists, I pull out and head to the right. I’m jammin’ out to my country music heading down the road. I pull on top of the road that leads up to my friend’s house. As I pull into her parking spot, I notice that a fresh layer of pink paint has been added to the whole house. Her little sister comes running out of the house and leaps onto my leg- giving me a gigantic hug. I take her inside with me and greet the rest of my friend’s family members. I put my purple bag on the floor, and tell my friend about the annual formal meeting that is taking place tomorrow at school. Then we get into our own details about our night. The rest of the day I engage in recreation with her brother/sister, then her and I talk about education drama and upcoming games.
3. As I swim down the filthy & dirty windy road towards the square green sign that has yellow words that spell “POTS”, the pot banging song I was listening to ends. A new song roars into my radiator and I’m not in the mood for it so I hit the black next weed on my silver CD skipper. I come to the green sign and put my legs down to POTS. Once I have checked that the road is clear of oncoming stingrays, I push out and glide to the left. I’m jammin’ out to my pot banging music gliding through the road. I push onto the road that leads up to my friend’s cardboard box. As I push into her triangular area, I notice that a fresh fabric of polka-dot strawberries have been added to the whole box. Her little couch sibling comes running out of the box and leaps into my flippers- giving me a massive jab. I take him inside with me and greet the rest of my friend’s couch members. I put my orange/black zigzag striped purse on the floor, and tell my friend about the hoedown meeting that is taking place tomorrow at the “Weedie Palace”. Then we get into our own details about our swimming tube dare. The rest of the day I play with her little couch siblings and her and I talk about vehicle drama and upcoming mammal arena derbies.

  1. 3 is different all right--like a bad trip on cheap drugs....

1 & 2 change a few details but are really very much alike; if their order were reversed I'd be making the same comment. 3, of course, takes the basic outline and turns it into a surreal nightmare--and I guess surreal nightmares have a place in nonfiction!
